Before laying vinyl, the subfloor must be clean and dry. Uneven surfaces can reduce adhesion and affect the function. Preparing the subfloor may cost between 5 and 15 Euros per m².

Depending on installation type:

  • Full-surface adhesive vinyl: 6–9 €/m²

  • Floating click vinyl: 5–8 €/m²

  • Additional underlay for soundproofing and vapor barrier: 2–3 €/m²

  • Full vinyl with insulation or special decor: 10–15 €/m²

  • Installing skirting boards: 3–5 €/linear meter

Skirting Boards and Accessories

Skirting boards cost 4–13 Euros per meter, including fastening materials. Some skirting boards also allow cable routing.

Subfloor Leveling

Uneven subfloors should be leveled using leveling and primer compounds. Cost: 4–8 €/m².

Vapor Barrier

Recommended between vinyl and mineral substrates to prevent moisture. Cost: 0.80–3 €/m².

Soundproofing

For floating vinyl, soundproofing underlay is recommended: 2–10 €/m². Some vinyl types already have integrated soundproofing.

Vinyl Types and Costs

Vinyl types:

  • Solid Vinyl (Massivvinyl): 16–45 €/m², suitable for wet rooms, can be floating or glued. Adhesive costs 5–15 €/m² for full installation.

  • Multilayer Vinyl: 25–50 €/m², thicker, some have integrated soundproofing, not suitable for wet rooms.

  • Rigid Vinyl (SPC): 14–42 €/m², dimensionally stable, ideal for renovations.
